5 Minutes with Sonia Bavistock
We were thrilled when Sonia joined us at MediPedi to experience a Medical Pedicure. Sonia is a self confessed chatterbox, happy hour enthusiast and leopard print obsessive. She is also the talented voice behind the honest, uplifting and positive blog Sonia Styling, which more recently has lead her to a new business, that we are sure will be a huge success.
While Sonia’s feet were rejuvenated after a summer of sandals and beach we caught up with her and asked her a few questions.

WHEN DID YOU START YOUR BLOG?
I started Sonia Styling in October 2013 at a time where I was seeking a creative outlet. It afforded me a platform to combine my greatest loves in life – writing, social media, fashion and helping people.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
The women who read my blog and follow me on social media. I’m very fortunate to have a community of intelligent, thoughtful, funny, lovely women who take the time to read what I write and post. They are also generous with sharing pieces of their lives with me, asking for my advice and letting me know the tips and tricks they’ve tried and loved.
YOUR BLOG HAS LEAD TO YOUR NEW BUSINESS, SOCIALLY STYLED. TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT IT?
Through my blog, I’ve taught myself all about starting a business from scratch and using social media to market it. I got to a point late last year where I realised I could use this knowledge to help other business owners. Socially Styled offers social media management and coaching, as well as copywriting services such as newsletters, blog posts and website copy. I absolutely love it!
MY FAVOURITE NAIL SHADE AT THE MOMENT…
Dazzle Dry ‘Dream Come True’ – it’s an unexpectedly lovely pinky/nude shade that’s neutral enough to match everything yet still offers a pop of colour. The perfect autumnal nail shade.
MY TOP THREE STYLE TIPS…
- Dress for you. Wear what you love and feel comfortable and confident in.
- Have a wardrobe full of good quality basics – they form the foundation of every outfit.
- Never underestimate the power of a great blowdry.
LOCAL LADIES THAT I ADMIRE… WHY?
Two women spring to mind immediately – Lucy Cornes and Kelly Noble. They have both built incredibly successful businesses that support and promote South Australia. They are also two of the most kind and generous people you’re likely to meet. True champions of women in business.

FAVOURITE TRAVEL DESTINATION…
That’s such a tough question! It would have to be a tie between Paris and San Sebastian. Both beautiful places with incredible history, architecture, food and a lifestyle I could very easily settle into.
